Carpet company to avoid!

, not just based on my terrible experience, but also that of countless others who have placed reviews on the web.
Anyway, been looking for a 2 rail set of mats for our 2105 T5 with a deep pile (so all the bits fall to the bottom and you don't see them!) in grey or stone (not black, as we have those - bought the Cali with them already fitted - and every single bit of fluff shows up!).
Difficult to find: tried CamperVanBits but they have been having carpet supplier issues and couldn't give me any idea when they might be stocking the 2 rail set in grey.
Found SimplyCarMats which seem to offer every possible colourway, so ordered beige with a grey trim in deluxe (95mm pile). What turned up were off white with a petrol blue trim, in the cheapest carpet you could ever imagine. Significantly not as described.
Tried emailing and was told no returns. As I specified beige/ grey apparently there's no cover under the sale of goods act, as they were bespoke, even though they are totally unlike the description/ images.
Rather stupidly, paid via my bank card rather than credit card or PayPal, so no refund joy there either... In short: either have to write this off to experience or start a small claims case.

Thats like 3 and 3/4 inch thick carpet, I don't think the
bench under the seat will open with such a thick carpet.

You'd have to remove the carpet each time you want to open the
drawer. That wouldn't work for me.

Thanks for the heads up! May I add Campervantastic to the list. I haven't a problem with the carpets as I haven't received them. Ordered in February and told 4 to 5 weeks delivery, I have chased several times and have been told that they were waiting on part of the order from Germany but would despatch the parts they had but of course they haven't even done that.

I think he means 9.5mm pile rather than 95mm, as you know, but even so its still too thick for a Cali. Its a pity that people order inappropriate parts from poor suppliers.

Not quite sure what you mean by 2 rail mats, but these guys sent good quality carpets for an Ocean, covering the rails but one on top of the other when bench forward

There are 2 rail mats and 3 rail mats. You can’t fit a 2 rail mat on the 3 rail system as the third rail makes it too high for the seat draw to open properly.

The ones I got from there are 2x transverse carpets for between the bench and the front seats. Pull the bench forward to make the bed, and put one carpet over the other

If you paid by debit card have you looked into doing a chargeback? It’s not as good as the section 75 cover offered by credit cards but it’s the debit card version.

Yes, I can confirm that. We ordered mid quality carpets ie medium thickness and found that it required weight lifters shoulders to move the downstairs bed forward in the evening. Even my wife couldn’t manage it. Same trouble when I had to open the drawer to get my boules out. (This was in France by the way)
Eventually we replaced the the midsection carpet with two dainty little rugs from Wilkinson’s, much cheaper and my wife can move them easily when she does the bed at night!
So suggest carpet the mid section with care!

I have had a refund now (which was done promptly once requested) thank you. I was told twice that part of the order, the carpet for the under seat drawer would be dispatched as you had it stock but it never was. I was only ever updated when I chased you. It just lead to a lack of confidence in your company I am afraid.
The order number was 24626 if you wish to verify it. I don't hold any grudge but the thread was about carpet companies to avoid and I have simply shared my experience of dealing with your company when ordering carpets.

Hi @Algor , campervantastic is not a carpet company If you go to their site, they are just like the club shop and they sell many more items for your campervan and also hire out campervans. Have dealt with the company, Ryan and others there many times over and can vouch for their prompt and helpful service.

Unfortunate that you've had a bad experience with the purchase from them, but let that not put you off dealing with them again

Ah, thats great that one of the team has sorted this out for you and apologies that this didnt work out for you this time.

We've had an upgrade on our shop systems since your order and the website now fully communicates what we have in stock and estimated times of the delivery so hopefully this may give you confidence to try us again

yes, we ordered the ‘luxury’ version. Really good quality and they responded quickly when we asked a question before ordering.
We only ordered the front mat. We have rug in the back, as we have the wooden floor and didn’t want to hide it completely.

I ordered the one up from standard (from vehiclematsuk) for the front and side steps. A bit thin but good enough. Excellent service though.
