Since beginning of July the catalytic converter fault is lighting up in our dashboard of our T5 built in 2013.

During a maintenance visit at VW, VW stated the motor software needed updating and the obsolete software was considered to be the source of the alarm light.
When leaving the garage the light was out.
600km's later after driving slowly in a traffic jam, the katalysator fault lit-up again.

When I called VW, they advised to drive for 30 min's with approximately 2200-2300 rpm to ensure engine generation. Unfortunately this did not help either.
When reading the fault with an app it showed following:
Storingscode(s)
P2196: O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0014: Uitlaatnokkenas Positie Timing - Over-Geavanceerd (Bank 1)

Laatste fout kode
P2196: O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Permanente fout kode

P0014
Uitlaatnokkenas Positie Timing - Over-Geavanceerd (Bank 1)

This week our California is scheduled for another diagnoses attempt by VW (3rd in a row).

Does anybody recognise this phenomena?
