HI All,

I went to camping and caravan show at NEC on Saturday. When I was returning from the show after driving around 100 miles I noticed my Kenwood music/GPS system restart automatically. It was never happened before so I am not sure what the cause for that.

Any way my more worry is that before reaching home around 15 miles one of coil (spiral) light appeared (blinking) on the dashboard and the same time I loosed engine power as well. Engine was running but very little power. Then I decided to stop my cali and stop the engine as well after 2-3 min I start engine again and I notice light was gone and engine got full power like before.

Even Sunday I drive again but all fine no problems.

My question is that, has any one come cross this problem before? Should I go and check or wait to be back again that problem?

Thanks

JK

As the warning light has cleared, at the moment, then it might mean that some sensor was out of range and the re-start reset it. you have 2 options:
1. Have a diagnostic check, to see if any error codes have been stored.
2. It might have just been a blip, continue driving and if it occurs again then you must have a check carried out.
What engine, what year and exactly what warning light and what does your handbook say it was?

What vehicle, what year, what engine, what horsepower?

Oddly, after driving nearly 25,000 miles in two years without a Kenwood hitch, this exact thing happened to me yesterday too!

Weird!

Even weirder.... the radio kept going despite the unit restarting!!

Thanks to all for quick response. My cali is 61 plate and engine size is 180 4 Motion.

this one light appeared this clearly says loss power. i think should arrange diagnostic check?

My guess the dreaded egr valve

Could be the dreaded EGR valve, if it is make sure you get a large "good will" gesture from Vw. Let us know the outcome please.

is that expensive job if fault in Dreaded EGR valve?

Thanks All i booked appointment for diagnostic check. vw cost me £79.00. lets see what's the outcome.
