Cutting a drive away awning to size

We have recently used our new driveaway awning for the first time. The driveway kit is wider than the wind out awning,so will need to be cut?. Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to go about this.

are you talking about the Figure of 8 strips and the Kador strip ?

assuming it’s the above items

A junior hacksaw will cut the figure 8 strips neatly , (applies to both plastic or aluminium ) a sharp Stanley knife can be used to deburr the cut edge.

mark the square cut with a pencil to assist in keeping the cut straight

the Kador strip can be cut as above or with a sharp Stanley knife make sure you cut on a wooden block of something that will stop the knife slipping (always keep hands behind the direction of cutting blade )

Try and cut the kador strip so it fits within the frame of the roll out awning. This will prevent the kador strip kinking, and you’ll be able to wind it back fully. The Figure of 8 strips aren’t much of a concern. We’ve left them so there’s a spare 100mm or so both ends, so if things slide about with the wind etc. there’s no issues.

We left them both oversized, makes it easier to put back on when you leave for the day and come back and had no issues with that approach.

Same here. We also recently found that the awning can slip along the length of the kador in windy conditions (Scotland in February). I've since bought a couple of screw-in stoppers to prevent this, but having the spare at either side was useful.

Thanks just the Information I was after.I have a junior hacksaw for the figure of eight strips.
Also I have a small craft knife which I will use for the Kador strip.
