We have just put a deposit down on this https://used.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/...NIA&ZIP_LOC=PR1 9SE&sort=PRICE_RETAIL_CUR:ASC
and we are over to Liverpool at 10:30 tomorrow to cement the deal. We have agreed @44K which I think is a fair price from a VW dealer with a 12 month warranty.
The Cali has a full and up to date FVWSH and they are doing the dsg service and new bellows as apparently there is a tear, as part of the deal so apart from the cosmetics is there anything else I need to check, for example the leisure batteries?
Also been offered extended warranty for 1yr + 549, 2yr + 749 or 3yr + 999 but I need to see what exactly that covers before I commit.
Hope the van is as described, its my favourite colour!

Smart van. Think I'd have been happier with 40 given the forecourt price and knowing dealers generally stick 20% on what they paid to negotiate down 10%, but as long as you are happy that's the main thing.

Note on the new bellows, I believe you will get the new design, not the existing one, so make sure they have the latest version of them to install as the initial "fixed" versions still leaked.

Batteries should be fine, but at 6 years could go either way, but deal with that later.

The extended warranty feels steep, dealer prices - it will be a private deal I think at that age and not a VW one, so I'd look to buy your own. Private example below for the same van, 3 years. An hour on Google and I reckon I could get that closer to 500.

He wasn't budging from 44k and the only reason he'd drop to that was because the service history showed a service pack to 2028 which he said would be carried over but when he rang me back it turns out it wasn't. Other than that I cant find anything else that ticks the boxes at that money with the (fingers crossed) piece of mind buying from a main dealer.

Seems a good buy to me and if that’s a full VW warranty it might well be worth considering for peace of mind all for £45k.

Cheaper than a lot on the forum.

@Kev Elleray just not there is no wind out awning which I think was a standard fit in 2018. Also aftermarket seat covers {are nice ones} so you may want to take a look at original materials under them - dealers tend to remove extras before they sell to maximise profits

Looks really nice and the price seems pretty good to me.

Unfortunately VW don’t do extended on vehicles that age. Will be a dealer markup private one.

If the van is under 6 years old it should be eligible for the "all in" package which costs about £800 for two years & covers a vw warranty, breakdown cover, MOT and 2 services. - get the dealer to pay for that rather than just the 12 month warranty.

I would also check that it has new rear tyres & has had the rear brake pads fitted - both were advisories on recent MOTs

I don't like the aftermarket tint to the windows & the lack of an awning is unusual, but the seat covers & spare safe are worth having.

Some great points mentioned thanks for the input. I had noticed the wind out awning missing and the dealer doesn't know why that is and or what the fittings are along that side but i'll know better once I take a look.
Also I'm not a fan of aftermarket tints and to be honest I didn't notice that so something that needs closer inspection.
I had gone through the MOT history and hopefully the tyres have been changed, I dont do advisories at 44k

Which extended warranty is offered? On our 2018 Ocean we took the all in 2 year deal which includes 2 mots and 2 servicing. We pay monthly. So far we have had a failed sliding door lock module and DMP sat nav unit replaced at no cost. Breeze in Havant VW

I dropped the reg into the VW extended warranty tool and it came up with a nah.
