Just spoke to VW re the paint warranty, they suggested verbally that this roof issue may not be covered by the 6 year perforation warranty.

:headbang:headbang:headbang:headbang:headbang[IMG] Dont know if this would provide some protection but on looking at various paint products one designed for lining pick up truck beds, Raptor U Pol boot liner, seems to be very tough and impenetrable. It can also be over painted. It was tested on Myth-busters and proved to be extremely tough.

For those out of warranty might be only solution.
Some may disdain but having used this paint product on pck up bed exposed to everything and on trailer covered by salt water maybe research as no one else seems to have better suggestion

For completeness, there was a pledge, lost somewhere in the T5 roof thread, that VW would repairs roofs reported to them within 6 years from mew. How that applies to T6s and if it still applies to T5s, is anyone's guess!

I think that is the right way to approach the issue.

I'm hoping that our Beach will last the family ~8 years. Check the roof toward the end of the warranty period, wait another ~2 years for a repair, then trade in the Beach ~3 years later. The issue has been managed.

    Hi,

Likewise! My summary is that as of today, 11th Jan we have 2 x T6 with suspected corrosion ie t6Beach on post 102 and obviously Snowy. Interestingly both Beaches.

We also have 2 owners who have reported inspections and nothing found, interestingly both Oceans. Posts 182, 190, 189.

    Would you agree?

Yes! Maybe we should agree format/data. I have started to complete the attached if possible.
