Do Solar panels need lightning protection ?

About to install solar panels on my T6.1 ocean. I was looking for an extra switch to isolate panels from rest of vehicle installation if needed and found interrupters with extra added features like overvoltage and lightning protection. It is installed between solar panels and charge controller.
for example : https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B0C1HJYKQG...t_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it_im&th=1&language=en_GB

Wakects Mini Circuit Breaker, MCB 2P DC 500V 32A, PV System, Separator Switch, DC, Isolator for Solar PV System, with Distribution Box IP65 for Panel Grating System (with cable)

Safe protection: includes surge, overload and lightning protection functions that allow remote communication and extend the life of the solar system.

But I never see any mobile solar seller offering such device, nor do I read about it on this forum.
The price is negligible but it takes extra cabling and space in the van .
So my question is : is it useful or overkill in cali ?

I wouldn't worry about lightning protection but it is sensible to have an isolation switch between the panels and the controller. You can't turn a solar panel off so as soon as it receives daylight it is generating power, being able to isolate whilst you work on the wiring or other parts is a good idea. I stuck a suitably rated circuit breaker in my install, takes up very little space.
