Drilling Rock Pegs In & Out

We've had a few issues getting rock pegs for our Khyam awning out (and sometimes in) without bending them on certain pitches. The answer thus far has been to whack them to and fro with a lump hammer, but that's a bit brutal and tends to bend the peg. The brightly coloured plastic fitment with a sort of hook at the top of the peg breaks when leverage is applied too. Has anyone come across a means of removing rock pegs intact from hard ground? Is there a drill accessory that will do this? I've searched the forum and haven't been able to find anything so far anywhere else. Any advice and tips gratefully received....

i just hit them with my rubber hammer on all 4 points of the compass then wiggle it around until there is some movement then it comes out with the peg puller. oh and don't hammer it fully into the ground.:thumb

Hi David
I remove my pegs with the claws of a claw hammer. Lots of leverage and control.
Cheers.

I do the same as wolfgang.
I also use metal rock pegs, threw plastic ones away whenever we had them with tents or awnings
