Morning. I'm away on a site in Derbyshire and the swivel lever on the drivers seat refuses to budge. Passenger seat works fine. I have swivelled it before when we first got the van but not since. Any ideas?

It works by cable , have you sticked your head under and check things...?

There's a bell ringing in my head somewhere. This has happened before and it was caused by the cable catching on something. I'm a technical and mechanical dumbo so I cannot give a solution. I will try and find that thread though, it was way back, probably 2014.

There's another thread somewhere, I remember it because someone posted pics of how and where the cable was jammed and I was sat thinking "I hope this doesn't happen to me :shocked"

Not much help I'm afraid, I hope you get it fixed easily.

How lovely of you Granny Jen to be so helpful!!! I just read this thread and think it's great that you took the time to search for a thread that you recalled my have helped Joker. Fabulous. I love this forum for the lovely, helpful people that are regulars on here - like you! :thumb

UPDATE. Just been to the dealers and they managed to free it but there is obviously still something not right so they have ordered a new seat base. I was a bit surprised when the mechanic said we don't see these very often, not many people order swivel seats. And that was at the dealers specialist leisure vehicle centre. Can't fault them though. They also identified the high level brake light as the cause of my water ingress issue.

They probably sell a lot of other models of vans and a small percentage of those will be Cali's.

Mine once got caught in the strap on the Inka seat covers

Great to hear you have a result even if it means a wait for a new base.

As for the High level Brake light .....Think yourself lucky young man that you still have one! :shocked Most of us parted company with ours on the maiden voyage or soon after!:sad

Hi Matt, yeah I get that but this wasn't their main van centre. Unlike most dealers, West Yorkshire Van Centre has a dedicated outlet, in a different town, dealing only with Calis, Caravelles and other leisure vans.

Thanks Jen. Agreed.

Lol! Sadly, it's a long time since anyone called me young man!

Back from the dealers today. Seat fixed without having to order a new base. On examination it seemed that part of the mechanism was dry when it should have been greased. Now works as it should.
