A new carbon capture plant has been turned on in Iceland, claiming to capture the annual emissions from 870 vehicles. But at a cost of $10-15 million, the additional cost per ICE vehicle would be $11,500 to $17,250. Perhaps in time this would come down. But with an estimated 1.4 billion motor vehicles worldwide 16,000,000 plants worldwide would be needed to fully mitigate carbon emissions from motor vehicles at a cost Elon Musk could just about afford.
