Got an email today from Euro tunnel with an offer on the Emovis tag. Thinking of getting one.
Has anyone used one for driving in France?
Sounds like a good idea to avoid hassle at the tolls, especially if you're travelling alone in a right hand drive vehicle!

Yes. Great tag to have in France, saves loads of hassle and a bit of time. Wouldn't go to France without one now.

Sounds good, going to apply for one.

As an invention it’s up there with beer, pizza, the bicycle and Cali as an invention. Makes autoroute travel a breeze.

I wish these tag people would get their fingers out and produce one tag for all countries instead of the faff of different ones. Surely easy enough to do in this day and age.

We have one that does France, love it, saves so much hassle when you need to use the toll roads...

Do prefer the more sedate back roads as much as we can though...

Well the 7 tag goes next week. A bit more room on the windscreen .

Does the tag gives also the discount for the route toll?

Can you get a "discount" at the French péage ...?
Would love to hear how that works...
Must have payed a fortune the last 15y ...

That's why I'm asking ;) what's the point of paying yearly fee for a tag if you pay the same for the road ?

The exchange rate Emovis use to convert the Euro tolls to GBP is even more dire than it is already.

Has anyone outside France managed to get a tag from APRR as their top Europe tag does France Italy Spain and Portugal. I tried and failed.

@MaxRed some of the points of tags are a) convenience b) shorter or no queues c) you don’t have stop at the 30kph drive throughs d) drivers of UK vehicles don’t have to reach across or bother the passenger and e) no risk of losing your ticket

As far as i ever knew there's no discount , just the benefit of using the toll-tag lane and not waiting in line to pay....
We always pay with Maestro card .
As for UK (right hand drivers ) the most benefit is not have to haslle to pay on the opposite side of the driver , specially when driving on your own this can be a pian. Thats why a toll-tag is so popular with UK drivers.
I considerd one but never did , now i'm thinking again ...:D

and you can whistle through the 30KMH lane that the HGVs use on the far right even when all the cars are queuing for the other tag lanes.. We drove the length of France with a gang of 6 cars and split into 2 groups those with tags and those without and after comparing all the times the tag group saved an hour on the total journey.

I have a tag from APRR. The problem I had was that if you translated the webpage and selected the country Great Britain I couldn’t go any further. You need to order in the French language and when it comes to the country make sure you select Grande-Bretagne. After you get pass that stage I translated the page back into English. I had a tag from Sanef now called Emovis but the cost was a bit too much for infrequent use.

Thanks @Alied I’ll try it again. I recall that I did the whole process in French and the problem was it wanted a French IBAN number and there was no credit card option. When did you do it and how did you pay?

Below the IBAN option there is another option for other payment .Select this and you can enter your card details .I use Halifax Clarity credit card for near perfect exchange rate

As previous post consider essential
Good for Spain and Portugal
Saves ques and hanging out of near side window and watching 50 euro note blowing down the motorway
Also some tolls are unmanned so saves faff with cash or c card
