Finally managed to get VCDS working :) interestingly it detailed a fault with the rear climatronic that I noticed occur 6 months ago.....couple of questions...

1 - Is it possible to set the date of ECU to be more accurate the date of my fault seems to be 2036 I'm pretty sure I'm not driving a DeLorian!?
2 - Do I need to clear the fault or does it retain it in memory?
3 - It has a reset counter, why would this differ to the number of faults?
4 - Should VW have investigated/resolved these issues when I took in it for it's end of warranty inspection/service?

My faults.....

Date and time are not fully implemented on all controllers. Mileage is normally a good indicator.

Best to take a full Autoscan and save it before clearing a fault. I you intend to take it to the dealers then leave the fault on there.

You can do the basic setting on the flap yourself I would think.

Cheers Stu, any idea what doing the basic setting on the flap would involve?

I've not tried with the rear system but below is a Golf operation to givebyou an idea of what to look for. As a registered VCDS owner you can also ask Ross Tech directly.

[Select]
[08 - Heating/Air Conditioning]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 001
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
The basic setting takes approximately 20 seconds.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

I know this is an old post, but using the Carista OBD connector and software I came up with this fault code. ALL the other modules were clear with no faults.

Heater & air conditioning
Part #: 7E5907040AC
Component: ClimatronicT5
Coding: 0004000103 (hex)
Fault codes:
9473650 Manufacturer-specific code
9474930 Manufacturer-specific code

The rear heater etc: seems to work fine. Is this important or of no/any significance?

Hello @WelshGas - did you ever find out more or do anything about code 9474930? I'm getting it on my Cali today from Carista. Back climatronic seems fine and is blowing normally...

I would just delete it and then re-check in a month or so.
I had a code, relating to the rear Climatronic, when I first plugged in my Carista. Everything was functioning OK, so deleted it and it hasn’t come back in the last 4 yrs or so.

I have the same error. All seems to function ok but error comes back after a while. Decided to leave it.

If the Carista reset dosn’t work - You can reset the flaps by pressing the ‘a/c’ button & centre vent (Arrow to drivers chest/next ) button at the same time for a few seconds while engine is running. Aircon Lights will flash and aircon fans in runs through a quick sequence, error code should then disappear.

Very useful, thank you both. I'll give this a try and see what happens.
