Extent of first service?

Van is due first service this month.......apart from the usual engine type things, is there anything Cali specific that should be checked/serviced?

We are not local to one of the good reviewed Cali specialist dealers, so are wondering if it is worth travelling rather than just booking it into a VW transporter main dealership? If it is only a transporter service we will use a local VW place with " a chap that knows a bit about camper vans!" that we used to use for our old van...

We live in Kent.

Any thoughts?

It is "van" service

Thanks....
Is there any point where it is Cali service? Or do we just have to keep a weather eye out on roof struts etc?

I wouldn't worry about it being a Cali, it is mechanical bits so a "transporter" service unless you have any camper specific parts needing attention. A VW dealership should be fine for that, it's on the habitation bits they normally fall down on.

Also be careful that they treat is as your "home" and not as a works van. No greasy handprints or footmarks please. I normally just mention it when checking in, "please look after it, it is after all my home".

Edit:

I came home this morning from a champagne dinner event last night feeling a little jaded: just the thing for a headache. "Status Quo 12 gold bars" booming out. Felt so much better when I got home :D
