Faulty Inverter

Hi all

My inverter has a fault on my 2011 Cali and VW Peterborough are looking into the issue, has anyone had the inverter changed before and is it a sink unit removal job? Or can it be done without removing whole unit?

Thanks but had already read that post and is not really relevant to my issue or question. I would like to know if anyone else has had the inverter changed and what's involved.
