Excellent campsite in an old quarry (Rivendale). Decent facilities and completely sheltered from the strong winds in the area. Recommended

Good fun though, absolutely bonkers. Worth watching but as John says don't even attempt to drive in.

We stayed at this site a few months back as our first trip in the Cali! It is a nice site, although on the second night our neighbours had a late, loud, boozy night, chatting rubbish outside until 3am, which sort of took the shine off it a bit!

We did quite a long walk from the site and found a really nice pub - The Old Dog in Thorpe - recommended

 

[Days out]

I found a good pub (Royal Oak). Just outside Buxton that has campsite attached / staggering distance. Great food and nice owners. I too experienced the snow!! This was a couple of weeks ago. Managed to make a large (2m high) snowman too!!
