For those of you heading here over the summer there is now a 2.2m height barrier at the entrance. Naked cali ok but roof bars and surfboard a no go.

Don’t forget.
Along the Esplanade you can’t park a Motorhome/Van or vehicle converted for sleeping between the hours of 11pm - 9am.
Bloody annoying if you want an early surf

Try Water Gate Bay..

Watergate has a large carpark set back with no height bar, and no allocated spaces so no-one will ding your doors!....+ surf will be bigger than Fistral (On a small clean swell + low tide, walk to the Northern corner and you should get another 1 foot wave height, but keep an eye on the tide as its a long paddle back if you get cut off!)

Go for a pint afterwards in the Watergate Bay Hotel, it has a nice terrace overlooking the Beach.
