This is 2020 and France has just lifted travel restrictions.
We headed for Fields of Lavender. Our first overnight stop was Comps.
A delightful shady riverside spot. The loo is nearby at car park/Petanque area.
An early morning visit to village bakery did not disappoint. A peaceful setting.
First stop: Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque. 65kms from Comps.
Pass around scenic Gordes to join a narrow one-way access lane with view down into a near hidden valley where the Abbey is located.
An early morning visit kept us ahead of the crowds.
Overnight: opposite Lavandes Angelvin at a roadside stall.
We had purchased something from the stall and then asked the owner where nearby could we camp for the night. He said here. That was us sorted and the sunset was pretty good too. Two other Campers joined us.
Continuing across Plateau de Valensole we passed through Valensole and Puimoisson to reach the dramatic Moustiers-Saintes-Marie (MSM).
From MSM we took the winding, climbing VC3.
This back road would take us to Ste Croix du Verdon. The views were magnificent.
Potential spots to wild camp too (check Street View).
We arrived at Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon to overnight at its Aire.
From the Aire there are views off the turquoise lake.
€8 to stay the night.
We arrived just before 14h to enjoy a very long lunch on the terrace of a nearby restaurant.
The view from the terrace is exceptional.
You're welcome hope this does the trick....
Alongside these lavender fields in Provence there were other colourful and aromatic crops.
Plus an end of day glass of wine for us (in the photo below the end of the Alps are on the horizon).
