Just remember that Scotland has a lower drink/drive limit than England. Hic!

If you are driving ask for either a driver's pack which they sometimes charge for, 5 glass bottles, or they often have small plastic snap containers. Allows you to have it when you've finished driving.

When you complete the 12 you get a quaich.

Don't forget to collect a booklet so they can stamp it.

We were up on the West coast and Islay in late September. Shame we didn't know about this then. :(

It took us three years to get around all twelve distilleries. Got to the last one (on Skye) and picked up our quaiches (not sure how to spell the plural) and they gave us fresh booklets - Whayhay we can go round again counterclockwise now :cheers

I'm originally from Glasgow and you can't even have one drink now and drive as it's just not worth it. The old limit was 80mg and that's now been reduced to 50mg per 100ml of blood.

Becks Blue 0% is now very popular

It is a shame that the old midland quaffing beer at 2% is not available now, all the alcohol free beers seem wrong somehow.

Even when not driving I look out for the sub 4% beers, more beer less falling over! But it seems that the trend, even in real ales is for the higher strength brews.

There are a few more real beers with low ABV nowadays. Adnams make a 0.9% beer that is drinkable: https://cellarandkitchen.adnams.co....es/adnams-sole-star-09-abv-8-x-500ml-bottles? and there are quite a few craft breweries making table beer (< 3.5% ABV). The best one I've tried (several times) is from The Kernel Brewery: https://www.eebria.com/products/beer/kernel-brewery/110-table-beer

Trouble is, finding draught beers with low ABVS. I must keep trying more pubs

For good beer I try and go to micropubs, where the emphasis is on good quality beer, rather than on food, gambling machines and profits. In my neck of the woods I can highly recommend The Bank which usually has at least one session strength cask ale. Plus, not a micropub but with good food and usually about 18 draught beers, The Pint Shop, in Cambridge.

(Sorry for the slight off-topic diversion)

The Talisker distillery will let you try most of the things they sell, although I was driving so didnt... They wouldnt give you a trial of the £3500 bottle though ;)

Yay, I’m a friend and now to plan that trip. I could get one in today

Signed up thanks. For a low alcohol beer I tried Nanny State by Brewdog. 0.5 ABV. Had one on Saturday, pleasantly surprised.
