Hi can anyone please tell me if it's necessary to turn the fridge on periodically when it's not in use, or can it be left turned off for long periods.
I always turn the AC on now and then during winter to keep everything moving and wondered if I need to do the same with the Cali fridge.

I only use the fridge when on holidays, so not very often.
Now with the current situation, I put my fridge on to keep my lunch cool at work as we may not use the fridge there.
Still works after 10 years with minor use throughout the time.

I like to start mine up every now and again just to check
its all hunky dory.
Use it or lose it.
You can guarantee that it will fail one day just as we are about to set
off to paradise.
@WelshGas has had the fridge on throughout lockdown for beers in the garden,
he sometimes has a wine around the garden, probably cos he's ran out of beer.
