Front centre 12V socket

Just a quick question guys and gals, should the front, middle 12V socket in the "ashtray" switch off when the ignition is turned off?

I have a dash cam which has an automatic on/off setting which should go into standby automatically once it detects no power to the 12V socket but it seems to be staying on. I assume the Cali's 12V socket is powered all the time?

Not got a USB ....but I doubt if it would be powered all the time as most car USBs that I'm aware of are drawing current when idle.

on mine the USB in glove box and the one in the centre by cup holders draw no power when ignition off.
turn on and they power up turn off ignition and they stay powered up for a couple of mins before turning off

Yeah I think that must be what mine does. May power the dash cam from the USB instead then.
