Fumigating Cali to take to New Zealand.

I have just had a quote from Rentkil to have my Cali fumigated- compulsory to taking to New Zealand. £1700 plus VAT. Horrendous. Anybody know other people who do it apart from Rentokil? I live near St Albans in the south of England.

Which port are you going to export from? Are you going to use a container? If so, they probably have a container fumigation service.

I remember a guy I used to know exported his Landrover to New Zealand and he had it professionally steam cleaned and then containerised for the trip. One thing he said was on arrival he had to remove any modifications and return it to the factory spec in all respects (he had upgraded brake hoses etc.)

The price you've been quoted in the UK is ridiculous.

That's a good idea as you could end up with having it done again if they are not happy with the clean anyway.
