Gas Ring

We have just returned from our first night away, we loved it. However after only one use the stand above one of the gas rings has badly pitted and stained, there are no marks on the bottom of our new kettle. Is this normal?

If you mean the pan stand then yes

Normal with use and if not - (like some van's you see) should have bought a Beach not an Ocean.
