Gas struts for bed less effective

My roof bed stays up but when being lowered the last bit doesn't get assistance from the struts and would slam down if not held. it's also heavy to lift up until the struts "take over" half way up.
I've seen some old threads but just wonder what the recommendation is in 2023
Is it easy to re gas these?
If not where/who replaces these? Obviously avoiding the overpriced VW Stealerships

Get any numbers off the struts and measure body and open length before trying the below if they have a replacement.
