Phew!
2nd bout is stressful F5 bashing over for another year; got Glasto tickets 3 weeks ago and CV West today.
Anyone else going?

Yes soooo excited . I last went to Glastonbury in 2010 and have attempted to buy tickets ever since unsuccessfully., So this year I’m absolutely over the moon about going . So happy . Especially as I have the Cali to go in now .CV East for us . Have you been before ?

Lucky enough to have only lost out on getting tickets twice in all the years I’ve been going. First went in ‘93. Next year will be the 17th time.

Always wanted to go to Glastonbury and could never afford it - now I could afford it, I'm not mobile enough to enjoy a ny festival on such a large scale. Life's a ........... o_O (but only sometimes!)

Try Greenman Festival BikerGran. Similar vibe, nice people, great food, amazing music and art, but all done on a much smaller scale. If you're mobile enough to get around in a Cali, you're mobile enough for Greenman :) x

Thanks LowMan, I'll look into that! I've found the big VW events aren't really to my taste although I have a little scooter that folds up to stow in the luggage space, but I had a great time at Weyfest this year, that's a small festival too and I was hoping to find some more!

My pleasure. Greenman prides itself on it's efforts to support full accessibility to it's site, so it's truly able to claim it's there as a festival for everyone. Let me know if you ever to choose to go, or ever need any questions answering about it. We're into our seventh year visiting there now and it's always the first festival we choose to book as the soon as the dates and tickets are announced. Take it easy :) x

I've just got tickets for Beautiful Days in August in Devon. It'll be my first festival in the van, unless I do Bearded Theory in May. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

I am wondering if the leisure battery will last for the duration of the festival . I have never been away (yet) for more than 3 days at a time without hookup . Fingers crossed :):)

I've just had solar panels fitted on mine so it should be fine.

Mine have lasted 5 days no problem. I just make sure the batteries are fully charged before getting there. And I don’t abuse them. Fridge is on constantly. Charging phones for 2 of us. Lights as required. Don’t use the radio. I leave the roof up the full 5 days (I have seen some people put it down when they leave their Cali for the day). No air con.

The only time they didn’t last, was in a constant 30+ degree heatwave (not at Glastonbury I’m sorry to say!) when they gave up after 4 days. The fridge had to work overtime on that occasion. And I did sneak some air con on a couple of times.

Thanks Swigle Exactly as I intend to use . Sounds promising . Not the end of the world if the battery does run down I suppose . Will have battery Camping lights and powdered milk as standby

Not sure how many of you got to Glastonbury this year, but I envy every single one of you who did. Loved the coverage I caught on BBC. It looked absolutely brilliant. Some amazing sets too from Stormzy, The Cure, Kylie, Chemical Brothers and Janelle Monae to name a few. Will definitely have to make a special effort to get there next year, and hope for similar weather :) x

I have just arrived home . What an Amazing awesome place before even getting to see the bands . I have a 2013 SE . I was concerned about the leisure batteries ie longevity of the fridge in this hot weather as we had arrived on Tuesday afternoon . So off grid for 6 nights and very hot weather for the most part .I needn’t have worried . I did let the engine tick over for an hour just once . ( lots of people seemed to be doing it ) battery read 60percent before setting off home this morning . I am really impressed .

Awesome @Mimi. Great to hear you got to go. Yeah we're always impressed by how well our Cali holds up off grid at festivals. Tend to do the same thing. Give the engine a tick over part way through, and everything is fine. Great to hear you enjoyed it :)

‘Twas great, as usual (19th time), although they could have turned the thermostat done a couple of degrees on Friday and Saturday - spent a lot of time looking for shade, sitting in shade.
TV coverage just doesn’t do it justice - they show bands from, what - 3 or 4 stages? There are well over 100 stages of all different sizes. And it’s not just music - comedy, cabaret, circus, street theatre, arts and crafts, alternative healing / well-being.
It’s a blast - and the Cali adds that little bit of comfort. Tbh, I’d have given up going if it weren’t for the Cali - I’ve ‘paid my dues’ by doing 15 in a tent, but the last 4 have been in the Cali - and there is no going back now!
Roll on next year - hopefully the ‘ticket gods’ are with me and I’ll get to Glastonbury 50 (and my 20th).

@swigle Wow 19 times! Impressive. Still haven't tackled Glastonbury in our Cali yet. Like you though, it's probably the only way we would now though. Been using it year on year at other festivals throughout the UK, and as you say, it always adds that bit of extra comfort. Bluedot later this month for us and KRAFTWERK whoop, whoop!

Will definitely have to get our act together and make an effort for the Glasto 50 celebration though :).

Well as it turned out Greenman was the same weekend as Weyfest that I had already arranged to go with friends - and now I won't be going anyway as I'm having a hip replaced shortly before that and won't be ready to drive. Gutted to miss out on the festival but NOTHING is coming between me and long awaited new hip! :thumb

Love hear about Glastonbury. Would love to see some photos

Hey best wishes for the Hip operation. By the sounds of it, you'll be all set for next years festival. We'll buy you a beer in the Real Ale Tent to celebrate x

2012 SE here. I always do 5 nights (from Weds evening) and this was the first year I've had to run the engine to recharge, as the readout was down to 40% by Sunday morning. That really hot Saturday must have caused the fridge to be running quite a bit.

My 12th Glastonbury in all and one of the best yet.
