Good wild camping spots in Lake District?

Finally, a real treat... one night away in the T5 without the kids - they will be having movies, popcorn and sleepover fun. We will be heading to the Lakes, dinner out, movie, and wondering about pulling up somewhere remote for the night, rather than a campsite. We know it's not really allowed, but does anyone have any tips for where to go? Has anyone ever been asked to leave a spot in the Lakes? We would obviously park up late and leave fairly early and not leave a trace behind! The only problem... would be nice to have a shower somewhere, as we want to do a run or a bike ride too. Hmm, maybe a campsite is the best option, as long as the showers are hot, and it is peaceful.

Ambleside for the movies and meal, over to east side of Coniston Water for your wild camp, lots of cycling next day and quick dip in the lake after, no hot water unfortunately, if you want an early knock I'll be passing sometime Sunday morning, wild camp often opposite the Old Man, awesome with the mist, Brantwood for your lunch, what more could you want.

Hope you have a fab weekend.
