Goodbye 6.1, hello T7, Goodbye T7 hello 6.1

Original 6.1, 4.5yrs old. Service catastrophe!
Two month repair, two months new T7 Coast courtesy van. Elected to px my van for new.
Choice of T7 or last of the 6.1’s
Chose the 6.1, personally felt the T7 was not for me. My wife felt the same!
What servicing issues did you have with the original 6.1?

What does "px" mean? Did they give you the choice of a new one JUST because of how bad the previous one was after 4.5 years??

Went to dealership for service. Technicians made a mistake resulting in a major repair. Dealership owned the issue from start to finish.

My 4.5 year old van was in fantastic condition. The issues were resolved.

As a result of the servicing issues and time to resolve, I was presented with the opportunity to get a positive result from the situation.

Consequently, i took the opportunity and resulted in a new 6.1

See here where the OP detailed the servicing issue: https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/thread...ce-to-zero-oil-in-47-miles.57037/#post-737200

The dealer messed up badly and ended up having to replace the whole engine.

PX = part exchange = the dealer will buy your current vehicle for an agreed price if you buy a new one off them.

Part exchange is handy because you don’t have to go through the hassle and risk of selling privately before you can buy a new car. You can generally get a lot more selling privately though. So I’m guessing ten dealer offered a remarkably good price for the part exchange to make it worth it? How much did they offer @Duff?

Ocean 150bhp 4.5 year + 17k > Ocean 204bhp pre-reg 8 miles delivery.

Inclusive 5yr warranty, 5yr service, 5yr Roadside + 3 Mot’s.

Plus as you say, i got myself in to a position of not wanting the responsibility of a private sale. Even though my Van (44,000miles) was now perfect with a new engine etc.

That is one sweet deal indeed. Sorry for your troubles but also congrats (and being able to try out the T7 for a couple of months was a nice bonus on top).
