The sequel to "miserable" ...

Albert and I are resuming our deep and meaningful relationship after a torn calf muscle wrecked our get-away plans.

Currently sat near Canterbury, warm, cozy, nice dinner - pasta with fresh rocket salad,, glass of wine, chilled, comfortable, content, relaxed, happy. Bose mini playing power ballads ..

Happiness is cali-shaped..

"where are we going tomorrow Albert? Follow the wind? "

Nice Jen , if your happy probally the rest of the forum is also..:D

Good morning Wim and forum :D

Getting ready to pop into Canterbury for a conference.

I could of had a nice hotel room in the city centre ... anonymous bar, anonymous room, bland surroundings, crap breakfast ...

Nope! In Albert, lovely breakfast - Muesli with mango and pineapple, nice night's sleep, in bedding that only I have slept in, with all my stuff familiar and know where to find it,I can imagine the comments over coffee and biscuits in a few hours...

"So where did you stay last night?"...

"My camper".

"You're camper? You mean .... a van????"

"
"Yes"

"Couldn't you find an hotel room"?

"Yes. I had the best room in the city. I brought it with me"........

"Oh!!" .... "really....." .....

stunned silence..

"so what do you think of the weather ..?"

Gal after my own heart Jen, except you have a better way with words :thumb

Ha ha. This reminds of when Piglet imagines meeting a heffalump.

He knew just what he would say:
HEFFALUMP (gloatingly): "Ho-ho!"
PIGLET (carelessly): "Tra-la-la, tra-la-la."
HEFFALUMP (surprised, and not quite so sure of
himself): "Ho-ho!"
PIGLET (more carelessly still): "Tiddle-um-tum,
tiddle-um-tum."
HEFFALUMP (beginning to say Ho-ho and turning it
awkwardly into a cough): "H'r'm! What's all this?"
PIGLET (surprised): "Hullo! This is a trap I've made,
and I'm waiting for a Heffalump to fall into it."
HEFFALUMP (greatly disappointed): "Oh!" (After a long
silence): "Are you sure?"
PIGLET: "Yes."
HEFFALUMP: "Oh!" (nervously): "I--I thought it was a
trap I'd made to catch Piglets."
PIGLET (surprised): "Oh, no!"
HEFFALUMP: "Oh!" (Apologetically): "I--I must have got
it wrong then."
PIGLET: "I'm afraid so." (Politely): "I'm sorry." (He
goes on humming.)
HEFFALUMP: "Well-well-I-well. I suppose I'd better be
getting back?"
PIGLET (looking up carelessly): "Must you? Well, if you
see Christopher Robin anywhere, you might tell him I want him."
HEFFALUMP (eager to please): "Certainly! Certainly!"
(He hurries off.)
POOH (who wasn't going to be there, but we find we
can't do without him."): "Oh, Piglet, how brave and clever you
are!"
PIGLET (modestly): "Not at all, Pooh." (And then, when
Christopher Robin comes, Pooh can tell him about it.)

Hey GJ, that's our manor! Where did you park up?

Can't wait to bump into some of the clan.

New dover road park and ride.

A brand new Aire. Brilliant., I was at a conference at the Beaney Institute.

That's one of the only proper aire style council run places in the UK. Haven't stayed there as our house is only 4 miles away, but may try it soon just for the hell of it! Free bus into town too. Not big enough for "Cali's on the Park and Ride"

Very well done but for the one thing that seems to plague British sites everywhere.

Lack of Rubbish bins. Had that been a continental aire then I would have expected at least one big green bin and one big black bin. Nope. Your standard small generic bin found in twee parks and civic centres. Every council Aire in the UK seems to suffer with insufficient rubbish disposal.
