Not strictly necessary but for convenience upgraded our van internet solution to hardwired running off the leisure batteries.



Gl iNet Spitz AX. Very capable router (based on openwrt) supports 2 x 5G sims and WiFi 6.
Paired with a victron smart battery protect it will come on automatically when battery over set voltage and shuts down if battery drops below set value. Or you can switch on and off via Bluetooth in the victron app.
Cable routing to boot leisure battery pretty easy.

Antennas are quite big and bit of a creative positioning to get it to fit but they are removable if you wanted to replace with something else (including an external if you are brave enough).
Wasn’t sure what 5G signal would be like with it being shut away in a cupboard within a metal cage but surprisingly seems ok. Haven’t tested in the wild yet.
