Looks like the battery in the heater remote needs replacing

can I do this myself? Or do I need dealer to do it?

thanks

I think it needs pairing after changing the battery , sure how to ....is written somewhere on the forum .
Never did it myself but someone will pop in who has ....

Although this thread is about a T5, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for a T6 and so it might help you out. It says that no coding is needed and you can replace the battery yourself.

You must be using it a lot. Still on my original.:thumb

Got new battery and it works fine

getting the battery was a pain though - not available in any local shops so had to order online

Jeezus, looks like my battery on the heater remote has ran out,
its not flashing red or green, its flashing a mix of yellow and faint red, is that a
sign?
I'm gutted....... its only 14years and 6 months old, can they not make things
last.
What type of battery is it? Is it one of those 2032 ones?

It’s only a battery costs next to nothing. Don’t be gutted!

I can’t remember the number but it is on the battery. Heater remote opens easily - lid slides off.

It’s VW, not fit for purpose. Complain.:rage

CR2430. Don't worry I got you covered. Just bring the van to me. I will sort it out and get you a new battery. Got lots of 'm. I'll even give you a 5 year warranty for free.

Mine looks different to that one, a bit more refined, but probably share
the same battery. Thanks :thumb cr2430

I want a refund Thomas :)
I found a few seconds spare yesterday and opened the remote.
Behold this.... mine has not only 1 battery but 2.
A23 batteries. Anyway, i warmed them up and they work again so i
might squeeze more out of them yet. :)

Digades make the remote controls but i can't seem to find their batteries
anywhere online.

Obviously you got some German VW luxury version of the remote. ;-)

Sorry if i’ve missed it but does the heater fob need coding after a battery change or not? If not, I assume the van pairing is burned into the keyfob memory (otherwise we could all turn each others heaters on and off).

No it does not need recoding. Seen a few threads about it.

I've never bought anything through Geoffs firm, people look
at me strangely when i say i haven't got an Amazon account. :)

I did want to buy the same batteries that were supplied but couldn't
find them so settled for Energizer ones, only a 12yr guarantee but hey ho..:D

Mine works fine too.
