Bought our first Cali on Saturday after lots of help/support/persuasion from this forum. Can't wait to pick it up (hopefully mid next week) and start our adventures.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Only 5 more sleeps until we pick up our first ever Cali. Can't wait to give it a name and become a full member of the tribe.... Going to be taking it away just the wife and I for a trial run next weekend then brave it with the kids the following week. Going on a shopping expedition this weekend to get the essentials (that we don't already have in our camping kit) - Any recommendations?

There are several useful posts already about essential gear but it does come down to personal choice in the end. There are also several references of people buying "essential stuff" that they have never used. If you are used to camping you will have most of the stuff you need. As long as you are dry and warm you can proberbly make do. Have a good search of the forum though.
