Back in July, our one-month old van was shunted while parked up, driver v apologetic etc and insurance accepted the claim. Badly dented tailgate, but it opens and closes so off we went to the UK for pretty much all of August.
Fast forward to today, took it to be inspected by body shop and they confirmed what I suspected - the frame of the tailgate's been "crimped" so it's a replacement job.
So, how long does the hive mind reckon I'll be waiting? Body shop is not a VW specialist but said they've waited 3 months for replacement Opel doors.
I'm in no rush - the only thing that bothers me is people automatically assume I'm a p***k in a new van who can't drive XD even though I was having my lunch in the back at the time!
