My T5 is waiting for a replacement hydraulic RAM for the elevating roof. The roof sags sometimes on the driver side, but as the children sleep at the top we want it fixed before it gets worse. It's been at a specialist Campervan dealer/garage in Lincolnshire for months but they can't find a new or second-hand part.
Please does anyone have any suggestions?
I have looked through some of the forums but couldn't see recent posts about parts. Apologies if I missed something obvious, and thanks in advance.

What year is your vehicle?

I don't know if you use ebay but there's a seller on there that has lots of the roof components listed he's based in Latvia but may be worth sending him an enquiry. user name RM-Parts.

Otherwise Kernow-Transporters breaks a lot of Calls & may have the required parts.

Well the VW Part Number hasn’t changed since 2006, so I don’t know what your Specialist Campervan Garage is upto.
You could order from VW or TPS who are a VW Parts supplier to the Garage Trade and there is a 2 nd hand one on eBay U.K. from a German seller who posts to the U.K.
2008 from the details.
Missed that. :sorry

Thanks - do you have the part number?

@AlisonL I hope you get the part needed. Please let us know how you get on.

you need to swap the ram left to right hand side to prove the fault. or swap the pipes on the pump. the valves in the pump can cause the same symptom you describe. you could be chasing down a ram for nothing and still end up with the problem . it could be the pump.

Thanks for everyone who posted responses to this thread. The garage ordered the part from VW and it took about 8 weeks to arrive and cost GBP450. On removal, the seal on the RAM was leaking. With the new part in (after about 6 hours labour) the roof is lifting and staying up exactly as it should. The pump is working fine. Many thanks to Dale Deely at https://www.lincsvwcommercials.co.uk/ for fixing the problem and looking after our Cali for such a long time.
