Insurance help for a 2012 cali

hi all,

I am new and need help !
I am just about to buy my first Cali tomorrow and looking at insurance and I am very confused!
I got a quote from safeguard which was about 700 and then I went on compare the market and it registered the cali as a car ad it was only £270.

so I would really appreciate your wise words and help on this!

Don’t rush into something as you get 5 days drive away insurance with VW I believe

It is a used one first registered in 2012 would that still apply then?

I am just confused if an ocean would pass as a car and if so what would be the difference in insuring it as a car and as a camper?

For that age of Cali I’d recommend an agreed value policy with someone like Adrian Flux.

Obviously insurance can vary massively on a number of factors. Area, age, NCB, also some companies don’t like certain vehicles..

Give Comfort Insurance a ring. The quote I got from the website was about 30% higher than the one over the phone. I had Aviva first, but before going camping decided I needed a specialist company who wouldn't start being difficult if eg there was a camping accident. In the end it was about the same price (£300 ish)
