got a 2017 California and one led has stopped working , do you think its still under warranty ?

Is your van under three years old? If yes then claim on warranty (worth a shout).
Do you have extended factory warranty? e.g. five years? If yes then claim on warranty (worth a shout).
Its possible that if it is just an LED bulb that has failed then VW may say not covered by warranty its wear and tear. But it could be a wiring issue etc which would be covered. That said I would have expected more than one light to be affected if that was the case.

hi yes its under 3 year old ,its 2017 i no its the light unit ie led as i have swapped with another one and that worked ! ill give them a call !!!
