Ireland - campsite/stopover recommendation?

We're off to Actons beach nr Clifden in April.

We'll be arriving in Rosslare at 1800 and need to be at the campsite (around 5/6 hours drive away) then following afternoon. I'm planning to drive across trhough Tipperary/Limerick rather than heading north then west - unless anyone can think of any good reason not to? I've done the route before when competing in a navigation rally (on a motorcycle) based out of Lisdoonvarna (which happened to coincide with the world famous singles festival - now there is an eye-opener, and something to visit if you've not seen it!!)

So I'm wanting somewhere to overnight (probably with a bias towards the beginning of the journey). Any recommendations?

We're heading to that site sometime over Easter, it looks gorgeous!
