Legends of the forum, we're looking to do some solid walking and stay in some nice AirBnBs, no Camper I'm afraid, but any great pubs and live music recommendations would be awesome so we can stitch together a 5-6 day tour of N.Wales and England.

Things the better half Swede loves:
Pubs, Castles, Mountains, Distilleries and Vegan food.

She will be finishing the Pan Celtic Bike race so we're taking a rest from the machines and using my Dads and feet to explore.

Anywhere around Snowdonia National Park in North Wales will be wonderful!!
Anglesey has some world class beaches and little beautiful villages.
Llandudnos Great Orme is a good walk and beautiful town
Conwy is a lovely vibrant medieval town with a great castle, lovely food and some cosy pubs and you can walk there from Llandudno.
Your basically spoilt for choice in North Wales :)
…..oh ye, Newborough beach on Anglesey is stunning and Surf Snowdonia is great fun!

England, Chester walls is a nice walk around the old Roman walls. Amazing pubs, and restaurants there and first major city out of North Wales. If you have time, the Lake District is also absolutely stunning and a walkers and pub paradise ;-)

We’ve recently moved from N Wales. There are some lovely spots up there. I’d definitely second Newborough beach, it’s about the best you’ll find anywhere. Lligwy beach / Moelfre is also lovely, as is Red Wharf Bay.

On the Llyn peninsular, Porthdinllaen is a must (great pub in the beach), Aberdaran nice as well but takes a while to get there!

We’re hoping to stop off for two or three nights in N Wales in August - thinking of Conwy area so watching with interest.

Just come back from a lovely site called Erw Glas, and can thoroughly recommend it. http://erwglasglampingandcamping.co.uk/

Steaming hot showers, great views, and everything we wanted to do in the area was only a few mins away. They also had a hog roast and cocktail/mocktail evening while we were there which was a great night. Lovely family run site.

Best, Matt

Chester is a good place to start then if you want to see a seaside town head for Llandudno then on to Conwy. From there head down the coast and cross over onto Anglesey, turn right for Beaumaris where they have a castle or go left for Newborough if you want beaches. When you’ve seen enough of Anglesey go back over the bridge and head for Caernarfon and it’s fine castle. If you have time you could head down the Llyn peninsula as has been recommended otherwise take the A487 toward Porthmadog and when you see the signs head for Portmeirion village which is well worth visiting.

If you have time and haven’t seen enough castles then Harlech would be your next stop after that Barmouth, a traditional seaside town, then Dolgellau, Bala and up through Ruthin back to Chester.

Otherwise from Portmeirion head for Blaenau Ffestiniog, famous for its railway, and then on to Betws-y-Coed and back to Chester.

There are so many fantastic places round here it’s hard to go wrong.
