Hi We’re taking these two munchkins to Scotland in 2 weeks to drive the nc500 and generally mooch. Im probably going to put some winter tyres on our 17” alloys, it’s a 2wd 150ps. That’s should be ok with a wee bit of snow right!? I’ve never been a fan of the thermal pop top wraps etc. We’ve camped down to freezing without one so far. Are we mad going in feb without one?

Winter tyres or premium all season with winter 3 peaks Like Good year vectors or Cross climate 2 with good tread will work well. That what I use all seasons up here.
They handle most conditions I have had commuting in the Highlands, NC500 is mostly near the coast too. Its normally only the higher sections of the routes A82, A9 that see much snow.
The topper might be good idea, be much less heat loss, quieter and will not get wet roof canvas and as you are near the cost on the NC500 its more likely to be rain than snow.
Also have a contingency if its just too windy to put the roof up.
