Just back from 3 weeks in France where we managed to find excellent campsites and had excellent weather food and wine.
Just wanted to share some of the sites we stayed at where we’re lucky enough to find pitches with private sanitary facilities. “pods” with private shower, toilet, kitchen sink fridge and on one a built in plancha with gas supplied.
Makes camping in a small van easy no running up to the toilet block at 3am ( in France as showers are shared men/women wife always wants me to go with her )
Pitch costs varied from €35 to 45 per night including Electric hook up
Sites we used:
Aux Pommiers in Beauvoir Normandy about 1.5hr nice level walk to Mont St Michel
Caravan ‘ile. Noirmoutier. Nice family site with goid pool complex with water slides something we normally avoid but this one was quiet spotlessly clean and we enjoyed being kids on the slides. Large pitches about 50m from beach we returned for extra night due to problem with another sited and wished we’d returned here
Le Cormoran il de re. Just outside Ars en re lovely site pitches not that big but facilities amazing. Pool complex for adults that beats many luxury hotels. Sauna and steam room and a nice bar. About a 20 min walk into Ars en Re and 19/15 min to beach. Bike hire available and island well served with cycle tracks. Liked it so much we planned on 3 days stayed 6
The only site we didn’t like was Les Dunes de Sables camping by Chadhotel. The private Pod pitches are squeezed in amongst mobile homes and directly opposite the motor home water disposal site. We planned on 3 days only stayed one went back to Moirmoutier instead
