Missing Black wedge for gas system

Hi all

We've had our 2008 Cali for couple months now and I've just got around to fitting gas bottle. Previous owner did not use the gas system and did not know anything about missing black wedge

Is there an alternative to the wedge as I don't think we have time to buy one online before we go?

Can you drive around with no wedge in place or is this not advised? I can't find anything anywhere about this

I have my Cali down pat with everything now this seems to be the last link in the chain

Any knowledge will be greatly appreciated

As it is just a piece of black foam attatched to a cord you youd use anything you find obvious to puch in there....

VW sure will sell you this for at least 25£ or more...

rubber door wedge from a DIY store would do the job

An appropriately shaped few sheets from a toilet roll does the job.

Being a terribly mean old bat I let everything shake, rattle and roll until I reach a campsite and then use their freebie product, even if it does mean getting the odd glance as I emerge from the loo having rattled the dispenser around for hours
