I think I'm missing a small part on one side of the trim "lid" for the electrical/tool cupboard (photo 1) above the rear nearside wheel arch on my T6 Beach which would mate with the sprung metal clip on the vehicle (photo 2). The lid doesn't attach properly as a result.

Do you know whether this is likely to be a specialist/pricey part or something standard/easy to find?

If it's a specialist part, could one of you with access to the VW part finder let me know the part number?

Thanks in advance :)IMG_7545.jpeg

I think your correct there is a missing part, sort of Christmas tree shaped bit of plastic that slots into the lid (pic 1) and engages into the metal clip on pic 2.
Suspect mine has been lost and replaced at an early point in the vans life as it is from memory yellow. I added some extra tape to make it a more secure fit in the lid.
Will have a look this evening and take a photo. Suspect its to small to have a part number on it.
Have you checked that its not fallen down in the gap between trim and wheel arch liner?

This is the bit you are missing. Installed pic has the base wrapped in tape to make it a tighter fit.
It does have a part number of 7H5 867549
Searching for that part number shows it available in a number of places, £7 eBay , 0.9 Euro on another site and even a downloadable file to 3D print if you know some with a 3D printer.
Might be worth asking in the parts dept of your local dealer.

Thanks so much, @owen_h and @calikev – I really appreciate it.
I thought someone on this wonderful forum might know :)

Now I have the part number, I can see that this question has been answered in the past.
Sorry for not spotting that sooner.

I've just ordered one from eBay and look forward to a less wobbly (and squeaky) lid!

Cheers,
Steve
