Hi there, I've just discovered this forum whilst hunting around the net for info on the VW T4. I bought a '92 T4 California 2.4D LHD back in August of last year.

Mainly been used for local surf trips so far but we're planning a family holiday over in France next summer. Getting changed in a warm van after a winter surf is amazing. We've done a fair bit of tent camping in the past and being able to drive onto a campsite and not have to worry about pitching tents is great.

Really impressed with the quality of the conversion and it amazes me how much gear you can pack into them.

I've spent a fair bit of time tinkering with stuff already...
- Replaced the radio with this head unit:

Then noticed the radio wasn't turning off when the key was taken out of the ignition. Turned out to be a faulty ignition switch, easy enough to replace that.

- Replaced the cig lighter socket in the dash because the old one was knackered

- New aerial, got the pattern replacement from brickwerks (http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t4-antenna-oem-alternative.html). Reception is still really poor though so I still need to see if I can do anything to improve that.

- Not sure if the horn fitted was factory or not but it was really quiet so swapped it out for this one from Just Kampers: http://www.justkampers.com/vw-t4-parts/ ... l-vws.html

- Replaced the leisure battery, the old one wasn't holding it's charge

Welcome along good looking van :thumb

Looks nice. Is that a Club, or a SWB with a high top?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

It's a SWB with a high top. The original California, not the club.

Cool, not too many of them about. Think you might be the first on here.
