I am just about to buy a VW Cali and the only things of concern are that I would like advice on:

  1. The wheels are all Bridgestone's apart from one which has a ticker tread and is a Falken. Is this an issue
  2. The gas hob tops look they could do with replacing. Is this easily achievable
  3. There are scuff marks on some of the trim, can these be cleaned up?

My views would be:
1- not a problem, but also not considered best practice (better to replace tyres in pairs)
2- this is normal, nothing to worry about. If you replace they will end up looking then this when you start using them
3- Could be a sign of exuberant use? Can only really be something you can decide if it's acceptable wear and tear. They possibly can be cleared up, but I'd probably consider covering with carpet.

None of these things individually would be a concern to me, but we have walked away from vans with lots of little niggles that left us concerned about how a van had been used or cared for in the past.

Hope that helps

I’d say the tyres should match. The other bits are normal for a van that’s been used.
