Bought our California last week, but it was missing its control panel knob. Still more than easily used with the end of a finger, but a wee bit awkward. Ordered a replacement from the club store, which arrived by return.

Was a little daunted by the instructions and given it worked perfectly well without the knob, I didn't want to remove the panel and risk messing up the electrics or heater.
So, with the judicious use of a file and some sandpaper, I reduced the diameter of the knob fractionally to allow it to be fitted from the front without removing the entire assembly. Needed to ease the cooler and home buttons apart slightly to fit it in, but hopefully that means it won't come out of its own volition either.
Hope that's of some use to somebody with a missing button.
