I also swear by the Megs lambswool wash mitt - the reverse size has a sort of netting that's gentle enough for paint but hardcore enough to remove all bugs.

A good pre-wash helps loads too - pressure wash and snow foam makes a huge difference in loosening off tough dirt like bug splats.

I am a recent convert to the lambs wool mitt, with fly removing mesh on the rear.

Brilliant.

Gets flies off bonnet, bumper, mirrors and end of awning with minimal flush.

You can even develop a sort of car valeters forehand and backhand technique
