New Owner - California SE 180

As a family we've long harboured a want for a camper van. Hiring a California for a weekend last year did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm so we started looking to buy our own.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I bought our 2010 California SE 180 from a naval officer and his family. It's only done 38,000 miles, and has had the EGR cooler replaced. The long drive home to Cambridgeshire from Hampshire was very comfortable and my kids insisted we spend the night in it. On the driveway obviously.

Today I had the engine serviced and the DSG oil changed at a nearby VW specialist and tomorrow it's having a full interior clean by a local detailing company. Once that has been done we'll feel like we can finally start making it our own.

I'll no doubt have lots of questions over the course of this adventure, and I look forward to contributing any knowledge I learn along the way.

I’m on other car forums and they often have the principle of a ‘build/ownership thread’ or somewhere where you can document the highs and lows of your car over the time you have it. Do we have something similar on this forum? If so, where would the right place for that be?
