Hi all would just like to say I'm new to the forum my girl friend owns a limited adition berghaus California and it's an amazing bit of kit although she has had an issue of late with the leisiure battery reading 50%one min then dropping to a very low charge the next any one else had any issues with this I wonder if it needs a new lesiure battery or if it's a connection issue under the seat any advise would be brilliant cheers but other than that we love it

Welcome on board , read some in the electric section there are sure some tips regarding your battery issue's .
Please do fill in your verhicle details (age, etc...) as it says just browsing rather important to know what we are talking about.

Ok will do thank you

Welcome to the forum. Hope you sort your battery issue.

First port of call would be fuses :) Rear leisure battery (on a Ocean/SE) can cause capacity issues.

Beach has one battery as a general rule, Ocean SE has 2.

It could just be the aqe of the batteries are past their best however. Let us know if you find a useful thread and feel free to reply on one for more info. :)

It's a 2012 berghaus California not sure how long the battery last

It will tend on how much it has been used and whether it has been kept charged.

VW generally recommend plugging in for 24 hours once a month to keep the batteries in good condition. If the van has been driven regularly or not can also effect the condition. Also if they have been ran very low for prelonged periods they can have reduced capacity.

First step is to check the big fuse on the rear battery (careful not to break it) and then the fuses under the passenger seat too.

If you can check the battery voltage somehow without the control panel that could help too. There is an earth shunt issue on older vans (not sure if it still exists by 2012) which can cause readout inaccuracies. It will also give you an idea if the batteries voltages are lower than they should be.

Welcome Vic and Girlfriend. It would be great if your Girlfriend would let you post some photos here....
