Hello all on the site and pleased to be here. It has taken a few weeks to post and say hello as we have been out and about in the Ocean a lot since buying it a few at the end of August.
Anyway we purchased a lovely white ocean 199bhp DSG Ocean from Breeze Poole near us which was in stock. Reasonable specification, dark wood interior with shower, cruise control “would have preferred adaptive though” heated headlight washers, black awning rail, comfort mattress, discover pro navigation...... etc.
We are really happy with Ocean and it is now run in nicely and driving superbly. We were not initially that interested in the 199bhp engine, and were happy with 150bhp that we test drive, but the 199bhp was in stock and had nearly all of the other bits and bobs that we wanted. Now that we have the 199bhp I am really pleased, as the extra torque that you get for climbing hills and generally hustling along is superb. The drive is less busy and DSG box tends to use the torque to pull rather than changing up and down the box. The engine has broken in nicely and MPG is pretty good for such a heavy vehicle.
We have spent lots of nights away already and the most memorable being in Corfe in Dorset and Slapton sands in Devon. The Ocean is perfect for just the two of us, and we love the Swiss Army knife way in which the vehicle converts from a daily runaround into a two berth hotel.
Having looked at post on here lately I am pretty happy that we got one of the last T6 Oceans and financially we didn’t wait for the new reg plate on the 1st of September as we got a really good deal from Breeze in Poole on the Ocean and also a good PX on our car. Tom and Carl at Breeze Poole we’re both very good, but the finance department at the dealer were slow in settling our finance on the PX and paying us back some monies which did mar the whole experience a tad, but overall we were pretty happy. Martin in the workshops is a really good guy with LOADS of knowledge and advice, Martin also fixed the piezo igniter on hand over which had been missed at the factory, a wire off.
As said we are pleased to be on the forum and wanted to get a post up soon and to say hi and share our Ocean experience so far.
