Planning to buy a second hand T5 - independent inspection?

Having pulled my 'wish' list of T5 requirements together am searching for a second hand vehicle though the usual channels: dealers: online - including this site, etc.

With limited mechanical knowledge I'm keen to get an independent inspection before parting with hard earned cash! Does anyone know of a Cali expert who offers inspection service in the London and Essex area? Whilst the RAC offer this service i would prefer to use a specialist who understands the complexities of the Cali.

Hi, Welcome to the club.

There are no actual companies out there that offer this service as it is quite spcialised, especially things like the pop up roof etc...
I have been out to look at a couple of Cali's in the past for people looking to buy, I am sure someone local to you will volunteer in return for a few beers, an existing owners will know exactly what to look for

Second that, ask someone local on here who's had a Cali for over 6 months, will have way more knowledge on the Cali side of things than anyone paid to do so, including dealers
