Poles vs Air Awnings. Which one?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend an air awning over a pole awning or vice versa and why.

I have been shopping high and low for one and now know what shape to get, so just deciding on construction.

From what i can see, air awnings are much more expensive, much heavier and larger when packed up, but seem very very popular so I must be missing something. Is it merely the speed to put them up ?

We have used a Kyham quick erect awning for quite a few years on various vw campers but for the last 6 years on our California. We love it as we have been camping in some wild wind and rain with no issues and the clip in ground sheet works a treat keeping everything dry including our cocker spaniel. I have no experience of air awnings but I’m sure some others will. Personnel preference.
