Reattaching fridge controller onto bracket

I’d be very grateful if anyone could tell me the correct way to slide the fridge controller back onto its support bracket? I can plug it in but keep getting blocked by some unknown/unseen thing from sliding the controller into place so I can attach the mounting screw.

Not knowing which specific vehicle you have makes that a little difficult. According to your Avatar information you have a T5 Cali on order.
